Introducing Puori PB - Plant Protein Booster

Introducing Puori Vegan Plant Protein Booster

Puori is delighted to announce the introduction of an innovative, all-natural Puori Plant Protein Booster to its product range. The supplement has been designed in collaboration with award-winning Green Kitchen Stories’ David Frenkiel and Luise Vindahl. They are the authors of five acclaimed vegetarian cookbooks that have now been published in more than 15 languages as well as an online universe.

So, what exactly is Puori PB Plant Protein Booster?

As its name suggests the supplement is based on plant protein and is completely vegan. Also, it only contains organic ingredients, and it has a great, neutral taste. These factors all combine to deliver a unique protein boost, which is especially relevant if you are eating a mainly or exclusively plant-based diet.

Puori PB includes just three high-quality ingredients for an excellent post-exercise recovery smoothie or boosting your favourite food recipe with protein; organic pea protein isolate, calcium from fossilized red algae, and stevia for sweetness. These organic ingredients work together to fuel optimum recovery and health.

Why you need Puori PB

Protein is an essential nutrient that should be the focus of everyone's diet. Why? Well, protein intake has been proven to maintain and increase muscle mass and strengthen bones. As a major component of all body tissues, protein deficiency has also been shown to negatively affect all of the body's organs and many of its systems, including the brain, gut and kidney function, and immune response.

A plant-based diet has been shown to have many health benefits including lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease, and a lower incidence of metabolic disease (1). But as with any diet where some food groups are excluded or limited, there is a risk that following a plant-based diet might lack certain essential nutrients – and that includes protein (2). This is especially true for those of us who are physically active and enjoy intensive exercise training (3).

Organic Pea Protein Isolate

Each scoop of Puori PB contains 10g of plant-derived protein, which comes from our special organic pea protein isolate, which has been carefully processed to have high protein content and great solubility.

The organic pea protein isolate we use contains a diverse range of amino acids, including arginine, glycine and methionine, the essential building blocks of protein-based structures in the body, such as muscle tissue and bone.

Physical activity, exercise, and even everyday activities cause muscle breakdown. But that’s not a cause for concern if you are consuming adequate dietary protein because your body uses the protein as a source of the amino acids to rebuild your tissues. That means you become stronger and faster and can resume training sooner.

Pea protein is typically easy to digest. Another big advantage of formulating Puori PB with pea protein is that it contains no gluten, soy or corn, which makes it suitable for anyone who suffers from food intolerances or allergies.

Calcium

Most of the calcium intake in the developed world comes from the ingestion of dairy based products. But a calcium deficiency is not uncommon in someone eating a solely plant-based diet (4). Yet calcium is incredibly important for a number of different processes in your body, most famously for the strength of your teeth and bones. Additionally, calcium plays an important role in how your muscles work including the rhythmic pumping of your heart.

The calcium in Puori PB Plant Protein Booster is derived from fossilized red algae, which is naturally rich in calcium and other trace minerals. It is, of course, completely vegan and the calcium in Puori PB is easily digested and absorbed.

Stevia

Stevia is a natural sweetener that comes from the stevia plant, which is native to Brazil and Paraguay. The glycosides are carefully extracted from the Stevia rebaudiana plant, and the sweetener has virtually zero calories nor any effect on blood sugar.

By contrast, artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose are many times sweeter than sugar. The downside is that they can easily disrupt the gut microbiota. As we have all learned in recent years, the health of our gut bacteria (also known as our microbiome) is incredibly important, with a constant stream of research identifying correlations between human gut health and disease, including human emotional and mental well-being. But research conducted on rats published in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health more than a decade ago indicated that the number of healthy bacteria in their gut was significantly lower after just 12 weeks of consuming sucralose (5).

However, we are still amazed at the extensive use of artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose in a variety of low-quality protein supplements. At Puori, we want our customers to be able to take Puori PB every day with confidence, which is why we use organic stevia leaf extract.

For additional peace of mind, as with all Puori products, Puori PB Plant Protein Booster is third-party tested by the Clean Label Project, allowing you to see the laboratory results regarding the purity and efficacy of our carefully selected ingredients.

We hope you enjoy Puori’s new PB Plant Protein Booster, which is also certified by Vegan Society
